It looks like Madrid is set for some cold weather in the coming days. Temperatures in the capital are expected to drop below -4°C tonight and – 7°C in the mountains surrounding Madrid. The picture below is taken from the Royal residence of La Zarzuela, where snow has already fallen – let’s hope it sticks around for Christmas!

hi i would like to know what months are available for skiing in madrid? and is it expensive to ski there?
Hi Sarah
Skiing is “normally” available throughout the winter from early December till March – though this year it has arrived late. Yesterday (22nd January, 2007), saw much snow across Spain and by the looks of it a fair amount fell on Madrid’s mountains. I’m not sure what expensive is but I went skiing around 2 years ago and it seemed quite cheap.
You can find the prices at the web resort you choose:

I hope to see you out there.
